Kelly
Jahner-Byrne, Mrs. Minnesota International 2001
was crowned on
March 18, 2001, at the Kimberly Ritsche Auditorium in St.
Cloud. The new Mrs. Minnesota, Kelly, represented Washington
County. The 5'8" brown eyed, blonde also won the preliminary
awards for evening gown and interview. Her platform,
"Volunteerism", is something in which Kelly is very well
versed. She has established charity golf tournaments and
founded a successful black tie GALA to benefit the American
Cancer Society and the University of Minnesota Cancer Center. Kelly met her husband John on a real life
"Love Boat" adventure. John hails from Arklow, County Wicklow,
Ireland. He works in the food and beverage industry and is a
professional chef as well as a volunteer firefighter.
Mrs. Minnesota was among 60
other representatives from around the world at the Mrs.
International competition in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee at the
Louise Mandrell Theater.
